step 2, specialize cities for roles, focus on one or two resources to get

step 3, figure out your win condition. You should know if you are building a space rocket, spreading religion, culturally smothering everyone, or killing everyone

_Note: do step 3 before step 2_

**P.S.**

* really just get in and push buttons

* civ is pretty hand-holdy as far as strategy games go

* just have 2 archers for every city you settle

* oh and before you spam settlers get something that boosts it... the govener or the policy card

* The easiest win condition to start with is either science or conquests, imo

* Religion and culture are super fun, but I struggle with them on the harder difficulty
